According to the Times of India, a tragic incident occurred in Chandrapur district, Maharashtra state, where a farmer became a victim of a tiger.
The 45-year-old Sheshram Zade from Kawadshi village did not return from the weekly market. Later, his body was found by the Shankarpur–Kawadshi road with numerous рваными wounds.
The forest department reported that the tiger not only mauled the farmer but also partially ate his leg and upper body. The family of the deceased received a one-time compensation of 30 thousand rupees (about 26 thousand rubles) from the authorities, and patrols in the area were increased.
Since the beginning of the year, the total number of predator attacks in Chandrapur district has reached 42, 38 of them being tiger attacks. Earlier it was reported that in a village in India, a tiger had eaten an elderly shepherdess, tearing off her head and proceeding to devour her body.
