The New York Post reports that in the United States, after more than 30 years, a teenage girl who disappeared under mysterious circumstances in 1994 has been found alive.
Christina Marie Plante disappeared in May 1994 from the small town of Star Valley when she was 13 years old. The girl went to visit a horse in a stable near her home and did not return.
She was searched for all over the state and beyond, leaflets with her features were distributed. Law enforcement immediately called the disappearance suspicious.
For decades, the case remained open, investigators periodically reviewed the evidence and worked through new information. A sudden breakthrough in the investigation occurred only recently thanks to modern technologies.
Plante was found alive, but the authorities have not yet disclosed where she was found and under what circumstances. Her identity has been officially confirmed, further details are not disclosed.
Previously, in the United States, after 40 years, police tracked down Michelle Newton, who had gone missing at the age of three, and charged her mother. The woman left with the child, lying to the father that they would be waiting for him at the new place.
