Леопард напал на мальчика в Индии
According to Deccan Herald, a leopard attacked a ten-year-old boy in India who was walking to the temple with his family, and dragged him into the forest.
The tragic incident occurred on May 10 on the road to the Nagamale shrine in Karnataka. The predator suddenly jumped onto the road, grabbed the child by the neck, dragged him 50 meters into the thickets and tore him to pieces.
The boy's name was Harshit, he lived in Bangalore and was on a pilgrimage trip with his family. His mother, Pavitra, accused the authorities of inaction.
«Neither the drivers nor the employees of the forest department warned us about wild animals. There are no warning signs on the route.
If there had been guards on the trail, my son's life could have been saved», she said. Pilgrims claim that an entrance fee is charged for entering the temple park, but this money is not used to ensure safety.
This is not the first attack in the area: a man became a victim of a wild cat on January 21, and an eight-year-old child was injured on February 10. After the tragic incident, the authorities temporarily banned pilgrims from climbing the hills on foot, the route is now only accessible by bus.
Employees of the forestry department, together with a squad for catching leopards, are combing the area with the help of three drones to track down the predator.
